A definitive series for the Australian Antarctic Territory was issued between 1979 and 1981, featuring ships of Antarctica. The 15c face value stamp issued on May 21, 1980, was supposed to show the “S.Y. Morning”. The ship shown was correct but the label erroneously said “S.Y. Nimrod”.

Therefore a corrected 15c value stamp featuring the “S.Y. Nimrod” and labeling it correctly was issued on September 9, 1981. In addition, the 30c stamp erroneously blew a flag from Iceland at the stern of the ship instead of the Norwegian flag. This stamp was not corrected.
