75 Years Nation's Territory

On December 1, 1993, Romania issued four stamps and a sheetlet commemorating 75 years of the territory extension after World War I, known as “Greater Romania”. The stamps feature temporary politicians while the sheetlet stamp features King Ferdinand I. The sheetlet’s background pictures a map of Greater Romania with the newly added Bessarabien part coloured differently.

The sheetlet was withdrawn with 28.733 copies already sold. Most probable reason is the fact that the coloured Bessarabian part had the Danube Delta included. The area was however already part of Romania before 1918. A replacement sheetlet with a quantity of 200.000 was issued in February 1994.
