Social Aid

On April 3, 1970, the Turkish Cypriot part of the island issued stamps with a local character on the theme of "social aid". The stamps could be used as postage in the Turkish Cypriot part of the island and were also accepted in the Greek Cypriot part of the island on incoming letters. The cancellation of the stamps was done by a black line. The franking value on the stamp was symbolized by petals. These were 5 and 15 M(illièmes).
