The Algerian Post issued a stamp series commemorating Algerian writers. One of the stamps was dedicated to Abdelhamid Benhadouga (1925-1996). While name and dates were correctly imprinted on the stamp, the writer's portrait was erroneously showing Mohammed Dib (1920-2003), a journalist and novelist. The stamp was withdrawn due to the error. How the withdrawal was effectively done remains unknown, since the stamps were issued as se-tenants in different combinations. In 2015, Algeria issued a stamp series dedicated to “Men of Culture”, one of the stamps was again representing Abdelhamid Benhadouga. This time, in correction of the 2008 stamp, with the proper portrait.
