On September 9, 2007 a stamp was issued in Azerbaijan for the 125th anniversary of the birth of the poet, writer and dramatist Hüseyn Cavid (1882-1941). A first stamp appeared, which was reportedly withdrawn very quickly, but it may be that this first stamp remained reissued. A stamp varying in design was issued instead. In principle, one of two or both reasons could have been decisive for issuing the second stamp in a different design.
The first stamp had the words "ŞEYX SANAN”, translating to “Sheikh Sanan”, one of Cavid’s literary works. In Hindi “seyx sanan” would be translated to “sex life”. On the second stamp, these words have disappeared. On the first stamp, the name could also be misinterpreted as "Hüseyn Gavid".
