On January 14, 2000, Belarus issued a 20 ruble definitive featuring folk dancers. In addition a booklet with 18 of those stamps was issued. The booklet front cover read: “ПАШТОВЬІЯ MAPKI” (translating to Post booklet) and in addition “18 марак nа 20000 руб.” (translating to 18 stamps with 20000 rubles each). In 2000, Belarus executed a currency reform with 1000 (old) rubles equal to 1 (new) ruble.
While the stamps in the booklet correctly had the new ruble imprint (20), the booklet cover design had apparently still the old ruble in mind. The Belarus Post applied a pragmatic way to correct the error in that 3 zeros were gilded on many of the booklets.
