State Post Bankrupcy
On March 1, 2018, the state-owned Bolivian Post Office (Empresa de Correos de Bolivia, acronym: ECOBOL) was dissolved due to massive debts. At the same time, a new postal service was established under the name "Agencia Boliviana de Correos ("Bolivian Postal Agency") to take over and reorganize the postal service.
The new postal agency did not and does not issue its own stamps until today (2022). Instead, it uses stamp stocks from its predecessor, to which a round and red stamped overprint with an emblem and the name of the postal agency is applied.
