Since 1995 China “re-issues” sheets and mini-sheets which have not been sold readily with a serial number of the format PJZ-<number>. This is in the context of philatelic events or commemorations. In 2004 the serial number PJZ-17 was printed on the 1999 sheet issue of “50 years China People's Republic: Ethnic Groups”.

In addition the sheets were cancelled with a stamp reading “55 years China People's Republic”. In 2005, in the context of the 50^th Anniversary of the China National Philatelic Corporation, China re-issued the “Year of the Rooster” mini-sheet with the serial number PJZ-18. However initially mini-sheets were erroneously overprinted with the number PJZ-17, thus with the already previously used number. These mini-sheets were quickly withdrawn.
