100th Birthday Robert Koch
On January 25, 1944, a stamp was issued for the 100th birthday of the physician and bacteriologist Dr. Robert Koch (1843-1910). For the stamp, there were, on request, CTO cancellations with backdating to December 11, 1943, the actual 100th birthday of Koch. Likewise, the special cancellations of Berlin C2 and Wollstein (where he practiced as a doctor in the 1870s) were backdated.
