The GDR issued 2 stamps in 1957 commemorating the first day of death of German Dramatist Bertolt Brecht. An official FDC with a suitable first day postmark was also issued. The name of the Dramatist in the postmark however read Bertold Brecht instead of Bertolt Brecht. Although the error was noticed immediately, a limited number of FDCs were sold before withdrawal.
