On September 4, 2008, German Post issued a sheetlet on the theme of dinosaurs. In October 2009, the souvenir sheet was withdrawn from sale because there was a "need for copyright clarification." By November 2009, the souvenir sheet was available for sale again, as copyright concerns had been resolved.

Originally, the Triceratops stamp was the bone of contention, as it was assumed that the image was not copyrightable to the stamp's designer. In the course of clarification, it became clear that none of the illustrations could be attributed to the trademark designer under copyright law.
