On December 17, 2004, the private postal service DEBEX issued stamps, souvenir sheets and a se-tenant sheet on the theme "Sports Region Brandenburg". Parts of the stamps showed athletes wearing jerseys with sponsor names on them. However, the respective companies prohibited the sale of the stamps, so they had to be withdrawn on the very first day.

The corresponding stamps, sheetlets and se-tenant sheets were then reissued corrected. The 49 cent (Deutscher Herold) and 128 cent (as well as the identical 87 cent and 163 cent blocks) stamps were replaced, as was the se-tenant sheet. The replacement stamps were also backdated and cancelled with the first day cancel of December 17, 2004.
