On December 20, 1994, three stamps were to be issued in Ghana to mark the 50th Anniversary of the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization). However, "50th Anniversary Of Ghana Civil Aviation Authority" (GCAA) had been printed on the stamps. This was accompanied by the logo of the GCAA. When the error was discovered, the stamps were already on sale and the unsold stock was withdrawn. The GCAA was established in 1930, but became an "Authority" only in 1986. Corrected stamps with the inscription "50th Anniversary Of The International Civil Aviation Organization" were issued in April 1995, also with the correct logo.
However, again with an error, as ICAO trades as “Organization" and not “Organisation". In 2006, from the remaining stamp stocks of both versions, the face values of the stamps were overprinted (with ₵4500 and ₵6000 respectively).
