One of the UK Christmas stamps of 2005 was rejected by the Hindu Forum in Great Britain. The Forum asked for the entire withdrawal of the stamp. Reason for the stamps offense was the imaging of 2 Hindus, identified through the Hindu marks on the forehead, worshipping the baby Jesus. The scene originates from an existing painting. The request for withdrawal was not granted but the postal authorities decided not to re-issue the stamp should stocks run out. In addition should the stamp only be sold in post offices when specifically asked for.
