On October 29, 2020, the last 10 stamps and 1 sheetlet of the Icelandic Post were issued. The main reason is the sharp decline in (collecting) interest in Icelandic stamps. Any remaining stocks of stamps that have already been issued will be used up. If there is a demand for new stamps, this will probably be covered in the future by reprints of stamps that have already been issued, at least according to statements of the Icelandic Post. This marks the end of Iceland's 147 year stamp history, the first domestic stamps having been issued in 1873.
