On 16/6/2005, India intended to issue a stamp commemorating “400 years of Guru Granth Sahib”, the Holy Book of the Sikh religion. The religion forbids to picture the book in any form, in addition, on the stamp, the “Rumala”, a piece of cloth covering the book was missing. The Sikh community protested the stamp and it was withdrawn. However, not all post offices were notified in time, therefore stamps got sold.
