The national workshop held on “Ancient Indian mathematics, Vedic mathematics and Astronomy”, passed a resolution that the anniversary of mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan be observed as “National Mathematics Day” on December 22. India post decided to release a stamp on December 22, 2010 to honor the mathematician. This issue was however withheld for unknown reasons. The stamps were finally issued on December 22, 2012.
