India Post planned to issue a stamp in honour of the 100th birthday of Narasimha Rao (1921-2004) on June 28, 2021. Rao was an Indian politician and the 9th Prime Minister (1991-1996) of India. The stamp was sent to 80 philatelic counters in India before issue. There the stamp was leaked by 4 of the philatelic counters before the issue date. One of the beneficiaries was a well-known Indian philatelist who also made this public on social media. This philatelist was banned for 5 years of abstinence from philatelic activities by the Department of Posts for illegal and unlawful activity. The stamp was not issued or the issue was "delayed" due to these incidents, with the issue not yet having taken place by mid-2022.
