On April 9, 2012, Macedonia issued two stamps in a series dedicated to the topic “Macedonia to join the EU”. The stamps featured capitals of EU members. Both stamps had the state's name wrongly spelled. Instead of МАКEДОНИЈА (MAKEDONIJA), the stamps featured МАКДОНИЈА (MAKDONIJA). Thus the “E” was missing. The stamps were withdrawn and corrected versions re-issued on April 9, 2013.
