On July 1, 1950, a definitive series on the theme "1939-1948 King George VI pictorials" was issued in the British Crown Colony of North Borneo. The stamp at 50c showed the (Atkinson) clock tower of the town of Jesselton (today Kota Kinabalu) built in 1905. However, on the stamp, instead of Jesselton, the town was printed with "Jessleton" (therfore letter turner). Correcting the error, the corresponding stamp was re-issued on May 1, 1952.
