In 1959 the Soviet Union issued a stamp in support of the Greek Communist Manolis Glezos (1922 - 2020), who was prosecuted as political dissident. The Greek Government protested the stamp and it was withdrawn from sale only a few days after issue. Until then the stamp was available in a few Post Offices only.
