On the occasion of the 85th birthday of the British Queen Mother, a set of stamps and 2 sheetlets were to be issued in Tanzania. The stamps of the set and the sheetlets read "85th Birthday of H.R.H. Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother". H.R.H. stands for "Her Royal Highness” and implies princess status, not queen status. Therefore, the stamps and the sheetlets were not issued and instead the same stamps and blocks were issued on September 30, 1985, corrected with "85th Birthday of H.M. Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother" (H.M. = Her Majesty").
