With Russia's invasion of Ukraine on Februar, 24, 2022, the stamp with the winning design was issued on April 12, 2022 after an online election by the Ukrainian Post (Ukrposhta) on the Snake Island incident. The incident on February 24, 2022 was about the demand of the Russian missile cruiser "Moskva" to the 13 soldiers of the Ukrainian border troops stationed on the Snake Island in the Black Sea to surrender. The answer of the soldiers was "Russian warship, go f*** yourself". As a result, the island was bombed from the ship.

The 13 soldiers became prisoners and were later released in a prisoner exchange. The design shows a (Ukrainian) soldier with his middle finger extended against a (Russian) warship in the background. The Moskva sank on April 14, 2022, it is unclear if by missile hit (Ukrainian claim) or by fire on board (Russian claim).
